During Winter and some early Spring shipments, some of the plant materials in this shipment are DORMANT.
This means that even though they have no green top growth, they will grow from dormant buds when temperatures are right. For many perennials, This 'rest period' is ESSENTIAL to good flowering performance in the upcoming season. During Summer/Winter months shipping might be delayed as we only will be shipping on days that we know it won’t harm the plant(s). Monday through Thursday

'David' is a white Phlox that is extremely free flowering, maintaining a very full display from mid-July well into September in our Moon Garden. It has a vigorous habit of growth and produces sturdy stems that will not be pushed around by wind and weather. Furthermore, it has the best mildew resistance of any white Phlox we have ever encountered.
Phlox, an important genus of valuable garden plants, includes reliable and colorful species that bloom both early and late, in sun and shade, and in a range of rich colors that is equaled by few other genera. In addition, the glorious summer bloomers often have a spicy vanilla-clove perfume that is perfectly enchanting. We are, therefore, distressed to see Phlox falling out of favor for reasons that we suspect relate to problems with powdery mildew, which is much less common in modern varieties, or if plants are grown in soil that doesn't dry out. Phlox are backbone plants for any well-bred border.
